STUDY ON VALUE CHAIN IN TARGETED AREAS OF BALOCHISTAN FOREST SECTOR “PISTACIA, KHINJUK, EPHEDRA, JUNIPER BERRY AND PISTACHIO”

The Balochistan Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship Project (BLEP) was launched by the World Bank Group at the request of the Government of Balochistan (GoB) as part of its agenda for poverty reduction. The project aims to improve the livelihoods of rural communities by promoting employment opportunities and the sustainability of enterprises in eight districts in the north of Balochistan. These districts include Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah, Chagai, Sherani, Pishin, Mastung, Zhob, and Nushki. BLEP has contracted Mountain Society for Research & Development Chitral and Rafaqat Babar & Co. to take up the assignment of conducting a study on the value chain of “Pistacia Khinjuk Ephedra, Juniper Berry, and Pistachio.”. The technical team of MSRD conducted this important value chain study and submitted the report within the time frame.
